BoxyCharm Unboxing | June 2018

Hello All! I did my best this month to keep myself from looking at any spoilers of June’s box from BoxyCharm and I am glad I did because I was excited and happy to test out some of the products we received this month! So, let’s review!

We received 6 products this month which I really liked! If you don’t know, BoxyCharm is a beauty subscription service which retails for about $21 US or about $30 CAD.

Luxie 3 Piece Flawless Complexion Set

First to review is the Luxie brushes that were sent as a set this month. It comes with a Precision Foundation Face brush, a Tapered Highlighting brush and a Duo Fibre brush. The foundation brush is too soft to apply liquid foundation, but might be good as a backup to use for powder. The highlighting brush is nice. I have not used the duo fibre brush yet from this set, but I will make sure to test out with blush in the future. I liked receiving the face brushes, but in my opinion, they are just all right and nothing to write home about. – 3/5 ($42 US or $55 CAD)

Battington Monroe Silk Lashes and Sol de Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

I was really excited to see something more unique in this month’s box like the false lashes. I haven’t worn false lashes in ages, and I didn’t want to spend my money on it at the store so I’m happy to try these ones out. I just have to cut them down a little for my eye shape but they seem to be of a good quality and don’t seem too stiff. – 5/5 ($28 US or $37 CAD)

As for the body cream, it smells great! Reminds me of being on vacation somewhere warm! This has made my hands feel soft and I’ve only used it twice. It was a nice addition to the box. – 5/5 ($10 US or $13 CAD)

Swatches of the Jonteblu Eyeliner Pencil and Ofra’s liquid lipstick in Verona

While the eyeliner pencil is of okay quality, I don’t often reach for eyeliner. And when I do, it’s usually for the KVD tattoo liner. Sometimes I wear and smoke out an eyeliner on the bottom lash line, but I would have rather received a more colourful shade than brown. 2/5 – ($5 US or $7 CAD)

Initially I was really excited to try out another shade from Ofra’s liquid lipstick line, and the shade is a beautiful brown colour. But after wearing it for a day I realized that the formula is much too drying for me and gives me the “cracked” lips look. It’s not a bad product by any means, I just prefer other formulas over this one. 2/5 – ($21 US or $27 CAD)

Alamar Reina Del Caribe palette

This palette is beautiful! I know that I’ve said in recent posts that I’m over the warm-toned looks but the metallic shades in this palette are standout!

I know that the swatches may not look like much, but the metallic shades are meant to be applied wet and my gosh are they ever pigmented! The blue shades are to die for! The orange-y matte shades apply well and blend out good as well. They are also quite pigmented, so you just need a tap of the brush lightly before applying it to your eye lid. I’m also happy that it was a colourful palette we received and not just another neutral palette. – 5/5 ($28 US or $37 CAD)

Overall, I was impressed and excited to use most of the products in this month’s box. Turns out, I’m not a fan of the liquid lipstick and face brushes but it was still great to receive them and reformulate my opinion for them.

This box received a rating of 22/30 and is worth $134 US or $176 CAD. Well worth the $30 price tag!
