Hi guys! I recently watched a video on YouTube about how if all my makeup were to suddenly disappear, which ones would I need to go out and repurchase right away! Basically the makeup favourites that I know will never fail me. I thought that I would share with you my Ride or Die makeup favourites that are either relatively new to me or have been with me for several years now.
Let’s get started!
The award for my ride or die primer goes to Maybelline Blur and Redness Control. I use this to help colour correct around my T-Zone and nose area, and I just find it works the best for me, and I find that you get a lot of product in the tube it comes in.
I actually have two foundations I love and I couldn’t decide between both. First is the Covergirl Outlast foundation. This is a great foundation for mattifying the skin and it lasts about 6 hours before I notice any oiliness on my face. The next one, also from Covergirl, is their Healthy Elixir Revitalist foundation. I didn’t know if this would work with my combination skin but it has a beautiful finish and a medium coverage that can be buildable.
My two favourite concealers are the Rimmel London Hide the Blemish concealer for pimples especially, and the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous concealer. I like the way these two apply. To be honest, I haven’t tried out many concealers especially higher end ones, but these two are the favourites I keep going back to from the drugstore.
My favourite setting powder has been and always will be the Rimmel London Stay Matte in the shade translucent. It goes on great and I can “load” up on the powder and not feel like my face is too cakey.
Bronzer and Blush
My favourite bronzer is the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer and my favourite blush are the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. After purchasing the Butter Bronzer, I have not picked up any of my other bronzers since. This is perfect for fair to light skin tones. Physician’s Formula does have a “medium” shade in the bronzer, but I am not sure how deep it shows up. The Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes have the perfect pigmentation which you can choose to build up if need be. My favourite shade is the one that came with the Birthday set last year I think called Paaaarty.
No surprise here! My favourite highlighter is The Balm’s Mary-Loumanizer. You can go in with a light hand if you want a subtle glow or you can keep adding to it to create that blinding glow too!
Eye Shadow Palette
This palette does not get enough love anymore. I am and will always be in love with my Lorac Pro palette. It has the perfect shades to create wearable day time looks or more smokey going out looks. The only thing that irritates me is that Lorac is not available in Canada and does not ship to Canada. I received this palette (one of my first high end palettes) as a Christmas gift when Lorac was still available in Sephora stores. I will never throw this palette out and I try not to use it too much because I wouldn’t be able to buy another if I hit pan on all of my favourite shades.
My favourite mascara is Essence’s Lash Princess. It creates the perfect amount of volume and doesn’t create that “spider” lash that I hate so much. I find that my lashes stay upright and voluminized most of the day.
My favourite lip gloss is NYX butter gloss in the shade Tiramisu. It is the best wash of colour for a simple nude shade and it’s not a tacky lip gloss formula.
I don’t have a favourite lipstick anymore, but my favourite liquid lipsticks are the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. The formula is not too drying and there are a variety of colours.
This was the finished full face of makeup minus a lip product. I am currently recovering from an allergic reaction from a lip mask so I’ve just been wearing Blistex for the past two weeks. I didn’t name a favourite brow product because I just use a brown eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows.
I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favourite makeup products that you couldn’t live without?
