Fashion in Review III

Hi guys! I’ve been trying to remember to take some outfit selfies when I’m feeling fabulous but it’s been harder with the bathroom renos going on at my house. I did manage to get a couple photos in the past couple weeks, so here’s a glimpse of what I wore.

I can’t believe that I actually purchased these shoes. Mind you, I bought them from Plato’s Closet for about $60, but still, I don’t think I’m ever going to wear them. I just love the Jeffrey Campbell shoes and especially the Litas! I came to the decision that I would be upset if another person bought them so I bought them instead. Right now, they’re in the box they came in in my closet, but maybe I’ll display them in my own apartment someday!

I know this isn’t the perfect picture, but I just love what I’m wearing! I have on my most comfiest leggings from H&M and the perfect t-shirt dress from Bluenotes, and the necklace I got from a friend for Christmas. I think I might rock this look at the conference I’ll be going to in May.

This next outfit is comfier outfit I wore to work. I just have some jeans on from Bluenotes, a Beauty and the Beast tank from Hot Topic, and a long gray cardigan from Costa Blanca. Super casual, but still fun.

I wore this outfit a couple days ago to work because I needed to feel like a bad b*tch and just feel super good about myself. The day before I had thrown up from eating too much salty bad food (and I haven’t purged like that in over 2 years so I just felt disappointed in myself) so I just need like a rocker outfit to tell myself that I am still effing awesome and strong no matter what. The cardigan is originally from Garage but I purchased it from Plato’s Closet and the dress is from the Forever 21+ line. The bun is my high bun (without a sock bun – all teasing all the time!)

Finally, this is the outfit I wore today! It was finally beautiful here near Toronto and I have been waiting to break out my maxi dress since Spring arrived. A friend and I walked along a lake/boardwalk today and it was gorgeous, so many people were out and enjoying the weather too. The dress is from H&M and I got it on sale there! The shoes that you can barely see are originally from Streetwear Society but I got them from Plato’s Closet.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’m looking forward to more fashion posts with the beautiful spring/summer weather that hopefully will stay for quite some time! 🙂

Spring Haul!

Hi guys! Today I thought I would share with you some clothing and accessories that I’ve purchased recently. I’m going to a conference in May for my job so I needed to pick up a couple things that would be appropriate to wear there instead of my usual tees with skulls on them and such haha!

First, I bought 3 new pairs of shoes since yesterday! The boots were originally from Club Couture but I got them from Plato’s Closet for $12 and they are a size 8. Normally, I probably wouldn’t have bought them, but my co-workers were like try them on try them on and since I did end up selling items yesterday, I decided to buy them. The two pairs of flats I bought from Ardene’s. They were 2 for $20 and they’re a size 9. I need to toss about 3-4 pairs of flats anyways, so I figure a change over of shoes for spring/summer would be all right.

Next, I went over to Aeropostale and they were having major sales going on! I got this size L bralette for $14 and it was originally $22. The black one I own from Costa Blanca is getting old, and I think this would look cute under some lace tops I have for the summer.

I also bought two dresses from here as well. They were $55 originally, but they were on sale for $14! A steal no doubt! They are a little short, but I have some gray opaque tights and I have a casual blazer that I think would look good over the colourful one for the conference. Other than that, they would be cute dresses for day drinking on the patio with friends!

Finally, I purchased this Steve Madden purse at Plato’s in the beginning of March as a birthday gift for myself. It is gorgeous and holds tons of stuff without my shoulders hurting when I carry it around. I also like that it’s brown because I tend to go more towards black purses a lot.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’m still trying to figure out how to sync my ipod/iPhone with iTunes and not lose all my apps/photos, so I’ll try to do a tutorial this weekend with my normal camera for the time being. Have a great weekend 🙂

Book Babble: Review of Paper Towns

** This review will contain slight spoilers for the end of the novel **

paper towns

I will start off by admitting that originally I didn’t want to read any of John Green’s novels because he is so loved, almost over-hyped by all the “nerd-fighters” and I was afraid that I wouldn’t like his novels, wouldn’t see why his books were so great. However, I ended up loving The Fault in Our Stars once I finally read it. But I can’t say the same thing about Paper Towns.

My Hair Care and Styling Products

Hi Guys! Today’s post features the products that I use on my hair quite frequently and a little review on each of them!

1. Herbal Essences’ Naked Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner – I change up my shampoo and conditioner regularly, each time I finish a set. This time I’ve been using the Naked Moisture shampoo/conditioner from Herbal essences which claims to have no heavy residues, parabens and dyes. I’m not sure if I see a dramatic difference after each time I use this but it smells nice and I like Herbal Essences as a brand; I’ve liked pretty much every shampoo/conditioner I have used from them, so this is no different.

2. Denorex Therapeutic Dual Shampoo & Conditioner – I use the Denorex 2-in-1 Therapeutic shampoo and conditioner once or twice a week to control my psoriasis. You massage the product onto your head and leave for about 5 minutes. I like to wash my face/body, shave my legs if I have time, during the waiting part. It starts to get tingly and then you wash it off. The formula is supposed to help relieve itching, irritation, redness, flaking caused by dandruff or scalp psoriasis. I do notice a change after I use it and it does help to relieve the itching and irritation I get.

3. Regis Designline Ultimate Radiance Leave-In Conditioner – I got this product about two years ago from the hair salon I go to, and I tend to use it on the days I wash my hair with the Denorex product. Only because I feel like after I use the Denorex, my hair feels a little dry and so using the leave-in conditioner gives it some moisture and helps me brush my hair out easier.

4. ExquisiteOil Protective Treatment from Biolage – I got this from my friend about two years ago when she worked within a fashion magazine for her placement. She was always getting free products and gave some to her roommates, including me. The product is a serum infused with moringa, macadamia and argan oils. You can use the oil before shampooing, during conditioning, while styling or overnight as a treatment. I was originally using it overnight, but I felt like my pillow was getting oily so I’ve started to use it during conditioning. I use about 3 pumps (is that too much? it doesn’t say) mixed in with the amount of conditioner I use and my hair does feel shiny and nourished.

5. Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray – They redesigned the cans, so I have the one that is a flexible hold hair spray and whenever I do finish it, I’ll get the one that’s the next step up. But, overall, it does it’s job and doesn’t leave my hair crunchy.

6. Tresemme Mousse – I’m not even sure what the name of the one I have is, but it’s not in the mousse collection anymore. But basically, I just put a pump in my hand, massage it through my damp hair and then do one of my braiding hairstyles overnight in which I get wave hair the next day. I think the mousse adds some extra hold to my hair since it’s fine and flat; I have no volume whatsoever, so I think this helps keep my curls intact.

Thanks for reading! Any products you think I should look into at all? 🙂

Sorry for the lack of updates in the past week; had to purchase a new laptop because my other computer battery was about to die, so I’ve been waiting until I bought my new one to upload pictures and such to it! Posts might be a little sparing for the next couple of weeks until I can figure out how to not lose all my music from iPod when I plug it in to this computer. Thank goodness for backups!
